Disabled Engine Labels Required For Cars Engine Disablement |
|
We supply pre-printed disabled engine labels and sodium silicate solution for use in conjunction with the CARS program. We specialize in engine disablement for the CARS program. The US government CARS (Car Allowance Rebate System) or “Cash for Clunkers” program requires automotive dealers to disable the vehicle engine for any car taken in under the program prior to salvage auction or disposal. The first step of the required procedure for engine disablement is to obtain a solution of 40% sodium silicate/ 60% water. The sodium silicate or liquid glass (SiO2/Na2O) must have a weight ratio of 3.0 or greater. An average of two quarts of this solution are required per vehicle for effective engine disablement per the procedure. Automotive dealers are also required to label the engine as part of the CARS program. Please explore our website for more information on CARS engine disablement. |
